A rare appearance of the preserved class 306 EMU (unit 017) at Shenfield in June 2001. 92 sets were built in 1949 for the newly electrified Great Eastern suburban services between London Liverpool Street and Shenfield, and the last were withdrawn in 1980. 017 would occasionally be wheeled out by the Eastern Region for special events, and is now preserved at the Shildon Locomotion Museum in County Durham.
